Wistrand has advised Skangass AS, a company within the Lyse Group, on an agreement to build a terminal for LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) at Preem’s refinery in Lysekil. The agreement involves an investment of SEK 700 million and creates nearly 100 jobs during the construction. The new LNG terminal will be operational by the end of 2013. Skangass will thereafter deliver 200 000 tonnes of LNG per year to Preem Lysekil. By replacing naphtha and butane with LNG for hydrogen production, Preem will reduce the refinery's carbon emissions by about 130 000 tonnes year. Wistrand's team was led by Mattias Boqvist, mainly assisted by Johannes Wårdman. Rudolf Laurin was responsible for environmental and property law issues.
