Coala Life wins Startup World Cup Sweden

On Tuesday, the Swedish regional finals of Startup World Cup were held at Hilton Hotel in Stockholm, with the jury selecting the Swedish representative for the global final in May 2018 among the seven pitching finalists.

Winner was Coala Life which has developed patented digital solutions and medical devices enabling daily monitoring and analysis of the heart. In the global final, Coala Life will compete against startups from 30 other countries for the USD 1,000,000 investment prize provided bv Fenox Venture Capital. The jury commented:

Technology is promising to change the way we manage the most fundamental part of our lives: our health. Within the category of “Health Tech”, the winning company has put their hearts into combining software and hardware creating a complete cardiac ecosystem. When adding a strong team and a strong ability to present and sell their vision, Coala Life is the obvious winner of the Silicon Vikings Startup World Cup Sweden regional competition of 2018.”

Runner-up was Einride which has developed an emission-free, road-based transportation system using self-driving vehicles. Second runner-up was Epishine which provides fully organic solar cells.

The compeition was arranged by Silicon Vikings Stockholm in cooperation with Wistrand, SynerLeap as well as Lufthansa, and the jury panel was composed of Fredrik Cassel (General Partner, Creandum), Sara Resvik (Investment Manager, Industrifonden), Katja Bergman (Partner & Co-founder, Moor), Johan Siwers (General Partner, Recapex & Board member, Silicon Vikings Stockholm), Camilla Kullborg (Head of Automation and Robotics, SynerLeap) and Robert Kullgren (Partner, Wistrand Advokatbyrå).
